Products to Make Pool Maintenance Easier

Before getting a pool installed, a major concern of many homeowners is the maintenance that goes into owning and operating a pool. While it’s true that a neglected pool will quickly become an unsightly, unsanitary mess, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to take forever to take care of it.

As more and more people have pools installed in their yards, more and more products have emerged to make pool maintenance a breeze. The main concerns when it comes to pool maintenance is ensuring that correct chemical levels are maintained, and removing any algae or debris from the water and pool surfaces.

Automatic Cleaners

Available in three main types, automatic cleaners remove dirt and debris from the pool so you don’t have to spend time skimming and vacuuming.

Pressure Side Cleaners

Attached to a pool’s return, these cleaners remove dirt and debris as the water cycles by filtering the water through a mesh bag. This prevents the debris from damaging the pool’s system and all you’ll need to do is empty the bag when it starts getting full. These cleaners will maintain your pool efficiently and quickly and run on separate booster pumps.

Suction Side Cleaners

Suitable for above ground or inground pools, suction side cleaners have only one moving part making them a great, simple option for first time pool owners. With this system, dirt and debris are sucked into the pool’s filter system, and all you will need to do is clean the filter occasionally to keep it working.

Robotic Pool Cleaners

Often recognized as the most efficient type of automatic pool cleaner, robotic cleaners have their own filtration system and are not attached to the pool’s system. This has made them very popular thanks to the reduced wear and tear on the pump and filter system.

High performing and fast, these cleaners automatically navigate the swimming pool collecting dirt and debris from the water.

Floating Chlorine Dispenser

Keeping the level of chlorine in your pool at an adequate level can be a bit of a hassle if you don’t use an automated system. Luckily it’s easy to “automate” your chlorinating of the pool with a very simple device: these floating baskets are specifically designed to float about the pool while you’re not using it, carrying chlorine pucks which sanitize the water as they dissolve slowly. These pucks are specifically designed to be slow-release and come in a variety of sizes depending on the size and frequency of use of your pool.
